Role Title: "Uniform Strategist Volunteer"

Project Overview:
Mount Vesuvius Hospital is on a mission to revolutionize our uniform standards. In a setting where identification plays a pivotal role in patient care, we aim to design uniforms that not only resonate with our facility's aesthetic but also help patients effortlessly identify different staff roles. With the diverse roles ranging from nurses and doctors to drivers and administrators, the challenge lies in creating a coherent, stylish, and functional uniform system.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Uniform Design & Strategy: Craft a comprehensive uniform strategy that distinguishes each role without compromising on style and comfort.
  2. Research & Surveys: Conduct surveys to gather insights from our staff, especially our nurses, on their preferred scrubs and why.
  3. Supplier Coordination: Identify potential suppliers, procure sample uniforms, and establish a lasting relationship for bulk orders.
  4. Outfit Proposals: Recommend a complete outfit ensemble, factoring in shoes, jackets, scrubs, and any additional accessories.
  5. Branding Elements: Integrate the Mount Vesuvius Hospital's color palette and ethos into the uniform, ensuring brand consistency.
  6. Creative Exploration: Using tools like GPT DALLE, brainstorm unique branding elements like printed patterns, embroidery, or innovative identification methods.

Steps to Completion:

  1. Kick-off Survey: Develop and distribute a survey among the staff to determine preferred scrub brands and gather initial feedback.
  2. Sample Procurement: Based on survey results, order sample uniforms from identified suppliers for review.
  3. Role-based Color Coding: Propose distinct color palettes for each worker type, ensuring easy identification.
  4. Full Ensemble Proposal: Design a complete outfit, including shoes, scrubs, jackets, and unique identifiers like armbands, printed hair ties, or face masks.
  5. Branding Integration: Incorporate branding elements, such as printing "POMPEII" down the scrub legs or other innovative designs.
  6. Final Review & Feedback: Gather feedback from hospital administration and refine the uniform strategy as needed.

Roles to Develop Distinct Colors For:

  1. Nurses
  2. Doctors
  3. Surgeons
  4. Drivers
  5. Translators (Patient Care Specialists)
  6. Medical Specialists
  7. Administrators

Facility and Company Colors:

  • Mount Vesuvius Hospital: Black, White, Dark Gray
  • Parent Company: White, Gray, Blue

Specifics & Details:

  1. Uniform Material: The selected material should be breathable, durable, and easy to clean, ensuring the comfort and safety of our staff.
  2. Branding Consistency: The colors chosen for the uniforms should harmonize with the facility and company colors, ensuring a cohesive look.
  3. Distinct Identifiers: Beyond colors, think of integrating patterns or symbols specific to each role. For example, a stethoscope print for doctors or a steering wheel for drivers.
  4. Weather-Appropriate Jackets: Considering Mexico's climate, the jacket should be lightweight yet warm enough for colder days.
  5. Footwear: The shoes should be non-slip, comfortable for long hours, and align with the uniform's color scheme.
  6. Additional Accessories: Consider integrating printed hair ties, face masks, and other accessories that staff might need.
  7. Name Tags: They should be clear, easy to read, and positioned consistently across uniforms. This can work in tandem with other identifiers like armbands.
  8. Additional Identifiers: Think of creative, out-of-the-box ideas like badges, pins, or even specific pockets tailored to the needs of each role.
  9. Custom Printing: Leverage the possibility of custom-printed elements on the scrubs. For instance, a discreet "POMPEII" printed vertically down the side of the scrub legs.
  10. Feedback Mechanism: Once samples are in, create a structured mechanism for staff to provide feedback, ensuring the final choice is a collective decision.

Sample Pieces for the Uniform:

  1. Scrubs (Top and Bottom)
  2. Lightweight Indoor Jacket
  3. Comfortable, Non-Slip Shoes
  4. Role-Specific Armband or Badge
  5. Printed Hair Tie
  6. Custom Face Mask
  7. Additional Role-Specific Accessory (e.g., stethoscope holder for doctors, tool pouch for drivers)

Purpose and Impact:
This project aims to enhance the patient experience by enabling them to easily identify different staff roles, boosting their confidence and trust in our services. Moreover, a standardized, stylish, and functional uniform will bolster the morale and pride of our staff, furthering our commitment to excellence in healthcare.
